Simon Cowell is searching for the Guetta Factor

Simon Cowell is searching for the Guetta Factor

Those of you who have read any of my earlier blog’s will know I love listening to dance music. It’s an escape from the pop music that’s constantly filtering out over the airwaves from every car radio and in every shop and cafe I go into. I previously discussed the ridiculous house album Paris Hilton is making, but I now have worse news. I would recommend all dance music fans take a seat and a deep breath. Simon Cowell has announced he’s making a new show to search for the world’s greatest [...]

The EX Factor

It’s X Factor finale week, crack out that Steve Brookstein album! Remember him? No? Well you’re not alone. The X Factor winner may receive one of TV’s most coveted prizes, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee success. Leon Jackson was dropped within months of his album’s launch. Joe McElderry was beaten to number one by a Facebook campaign and Shayne Ward was forced to head to the West End after Simon Cowell refused to release any more of his music. Several others who missed out on the top spot have turned [...]

Amelia Lily’s ‘Winner’s single’ hits the web amid fix speculation

There were red faces all round today as comeback contestant, Amelia Lily’s ‘winner’s single’ was made available to pre-order on HMV’s website, days before the series announces its winner. The mix-up has caused an outbreak of accusations as fans and foes of the X Factor alike  speculate a ‘fix’. Amelia Lily, Little Mix and Marcus Collins remain the three finalists set to battle it out this Saturday night. The three acts have all pre- recorded the winner’s single to ensure its immediate availability once the winner is announced this weekend. However Lily’s appeared [...]

Grunge legends Nirvana are set to re-release “Smells Like Teen Spirit” as a limited edition 7” due to the huge campaign on Facebook. A message on the band’s official Facebook page read; “We’ve heard about the campaign to get ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana for Christmas Number One in the UK (supporting the children’s charity Rhythmix) and it looks like the label will re-release the single 7” as a limited edition for the fans!” The Facebook group hope to emulate the success of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing in [...]

The Sandwich Factor: Could Louis Walsh lose his job?

“You’re great, you deserve to be here, you were born to do this, you’re riding the wave, pushing the boundaries, living the dream; you’re pure talent.” Louis Walsh slaps the sandwich maker on the back, and then proceeds to clear away a table at his local café. According to recent comments in The Sun this image could soon be a reality for poor lil’ Louis.  ITV Bosses want a dramatic shake-up to revive some 2.5m viewers since last year: which could mean axing Mr. Walsh and bringing Simon Cowell back [...]

X-Factor

X Factor: The Winning Formula?

Love it or hate it, come October everyone is talking about The X Factor. We clamour for information about the finalists, we try to predict who will battle it out in the Sunday night sing-off and tweet our way through each show. Then the winner is announced and we promptly forget everything about the people we cared about so deeply for three months. Yes, it’s the ultimate in throwaway television, but it works. Yet after seven seasons and hundreds of contestants, I can’t help but notice some patterns emerging.  “Chasing [...]

Louis Walsh - Sex God

Louis Walsh – Sex God?

*Disclaimer*:  The mental images contained in this post are disturbing, difficult to forget and you may be left feeling unclean. Which member of the X Factor judging panel do you reckon would be the best between the sheets? Perhaps you would pick feisty Tulisa or the athletic goddess that is Kelly Rowland? Or maybe the handsome and rugged Gary Barlow? I would say, (and I’m only guessing now)that the general population would not pick Louis Walsh as the judge who would most likely give them the ride of their lives. Now [...]

Matt Cardle

Matt Cardle faces pressure for new single to be a hit

X Factor is here and it is taking over our weekends until Christmas. This time it is back with a brand new judging panel and I definitely do not miss the old judges. Matt Cardle may have won the competition last year but the real challenge now lies before him. Will his first post-X Factor single be a hit or miss? The video for his single “Run For Your Life” was released this week and has already had nearly 200,000 views on Youtube. Naturally Cardle will be hoping to mimic [...]
