Fifa vice-president, Jim Boyce, came out this week and stated that diving in football was like a cancer. In recent weeks Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, and Tottenham Left Winger, Gareth Bale, have attracted criticism for how easily they go to ground. Diving has been controversial for a while now in football, and understandably so. It is deliberate cheating, but despite this, no one will be remembered like Diego Maradona was for his famous ‘Hand of God’ goal, simply because diving has been accepted as a part of the modern game.
