People always tend to forget the real meaning of Christmas, which is, of course, watching movies…. and overeating. For the movie lovers amongst you, Studenty has the Essential Christmas Movies; even if you did use imdb.com to help you with the impossible RTE Guide movie quiz this year.
You know those christmas films that are on at 6pm every Christmas day, regardless of how Christmas-y thay actually are. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up this year. RTE has just launched their festive period television guide. Unsurprisingly, over the next month there will be a great deal of movies, which may help take your minds off exams and results, but will probably just be an excuse not to study. Can you afford to miss Uncle Buck this year?
Full disclosure- I spent the majority of my teen years as a Goth/emo/rocker hybrid. I shopped in Stephen’s Green’s mecca for the alternative, Asha, and trawled George’s Arcade for anime-inspired handbags and dayglo nail varnish. I had a My Chemical Romance hoodie; had pink streaks in my hair; and wore way too much eyeliner. It was a tragic time for all involved.
Some actors are known for being more dedicated to their craft than others. Classically the mainstream film industry is known for doing everything, from set pieces to action sequences, on a huge scale. However, when it comes to Hollywood casting tough guys, small men are at no disadvantage.
