How to achieve “Exam Face” in 5 simple steps
Let’s not lie. There is nothing worse than end of year exams. The stress, the Red Bull-induced anxiety attacks, the cramming, the crying – it’s a nasty space in time. If you’re anything like yours truly, any sense of self-respect goes out the window. Showers are replaced with wet wipes, pyjamas slowly creep their way into your daywear and the only thing that gets you out of bed in the morning is a bottle of Lucozade, four Berocca and the faint hope that you might get run over by a [...]
Alexa Chung for Vero Moda Spring 2012
Alexa Chung is a woman of many talents. As beautiful as she is witty, she is a role model to many young women. I stumbled upon her latest achievement as a bit of an accident, and I just felt compelled to write about it. It can now be said that she can add fashion designer to her list of feats. Vero Moda has taken on the dazzling fashion icon as the face of their spring 2012 collection, and what a collection it is. I’ve always been a massive fan of Alexa Chung [...]
Urban Outfitters under fire over controversial Paddy’s Day garb
Urban Outfitters have come under fire from US Congressional leaders for selling a collection of controversial St. Patrick’s Day merchandise. A number of t-shirts, hats and accesories featuring slogans such as “Irish Yoga – Downward Facing Upchuck” (featured on a hat complete with the image of man vomiting shamrocks) and “Irish I Were Drunk”. Aside from promoting criminal puns, the US chain has been accused of fueling stereotypes that the Irish, and Irish-Americans are binge-drinking hooligans, most especially when a few floats roll into town. What do you think? Do [...]

Contestants from around Ireland submitted mood boards to the Society, from which 19 showstopping designs were selected and successfully modelled by DCU students at the showcase. The heat saw the 19 contestants narrowed down into a top twelve instead [...]

Inspired: Om Diva
Stumbling over a bag of cash in the street is one way to get your business started. That’s what happened to Ruth Ni Loinsigh, owner of Om Diva, a treasure box of vintage on Drury Street in Dublin. “There was a thousand euro in it, in coins. I reported it of course, but when it wasn’t claimed, I was allowed to keep it”. The money meant Ruth could make her first buying trip for her vintage stall in George’s Street Arcade, one of most unique and quirky vintage shops in [...]
The Handbags and The Gladrags, an enlightening from Osaro Azams.
Osaro Azams, possibly the coolest name ever? Matched by an equally awesome person. Osaro Azams is a young edgy designer, artist and owner of QuirkyFeet. Drawing inspiration from nature, art, cartoons, films Azams’ smorgasbord of creativity is boundary less. Genius combinations [...]

Everything soft and billowing, floaty dresses and blouses feature from the beautifully feminine to the sleek androgynous.
