The final line-up of this year’s Electric Picnic has been released, as well as the day-by-day breakdown.
For those of you lucky to be attending Stradbally for the whole weekend of the 31st of August, and the 1st and 2nd of September, are in for an unreal assortment of tunes. Entertaining the masses on Friday will be Sigur Rós, The XX, Christy Moore, girl of the moment Azealia Banks, Grizzly Bear, The Vaccines, Alabama Shakes and many more. Saturday will play host to alternative heroes The Cure and Orbital, as well as Grimes, Crystal Castles, SBTRKT, Bell X1 and Dexys. Finally, on Sunday, The Killers will wrap up the festival, as will Elbow, Hot Chip, Bombay Bicycle Club, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Cathy Davey.
The comedy line-up has also finally been announced. The biggest names on the bill are Patrick Kielty, David O’Doherty, Dead Cat Bounce, David McSavage, Joe Rooney and Eric Lalor, with loads more taking to the stage to entertain those a bit tired of the dance tent.
As well as all the live music and comedy, Electric Picnic will still have their Body and Soul and Trench Town areas for alternative relaxation, as well as a fairground, hair and make-up stands, and great food stalls.
Those of you a bit strapped for cash (aren’t we all?) can get a day ticket on the Sunday to see Brandon Flowers and co rock Laois. The full line-up can be seen on the Electric Picnic website.
