Spice Girls Reunited!

Spice Girls Reunited!

For the first time since their worldwide tour in 2008, all five of the original Spice Girls have gathered to celebrate the announcement of their new musical in London.

The musical, Viva Forever, will premier at the Picadilly Theatre in the West End in December of this year and will feature songs from their hey-day. It will tell the story of a young girl and her best friends trying to find fame in the music industry through a reality TV show.

The details were announced today in the St Pancras Hotel in London, where the video for Wannabe was filmed. The stars gathered at the foot of the famous staircase for a photoshoot after the press conference. The girls, just like the hotel, appeared much more glamorous than they did in the original shots- there wasn’t a platform runner or a tracksuit in sight. Even Mel C looked lady-like!

The musical is being produced by Judy Craymer, who is also responsible for the success of Mama Mia! Comedienne Jennifer Saunders is in charge of writing the work. The singers appear to be excited about the project as this morning Mel B tweeted,

Whoop whoop where my spice biatches at!!! Lovin ALL spice fans always!

Although rumours speculated that a possible reunion was a possibility at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, Mel C dismissed them by saying,

Not true. It was an honour to be asked (for the Jubilee concert), but not everyone is comfortable about doing it so we have to respect each other’s feelings about that.

Although it doesn’t appear to be on the cards, seeing our girls back together in the one room still gives us hope!
