After an evening of colourful performances from 18 European countries, Jedward have made it through to the Eurovision Song Contest final this Saturday by the skin of their teeth, being the last picked of the 10 finalist countries.
The duo were clearly delighted by the result as they, not uncharacteristically, cartwheeled their way up the walkway to the stage.
Broadcasting from the Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan, Jedward performed their song Waterline in front of a worldwide audience of over 50 million.
They will now go on to perform on Saturday night at the Eurovision final, for an audience of over million.
Romania, Moldova, Iceland, Hungary, Denmark, Albania, Cyprus, Greece and Russia will join Jedward after also being selected after tonight’s first of two semi-finals. Ireland will perform 23rd in the final.
You can watch the Eurovision Song Contest Final live this Saturday, May 26th, on RTE 1 from 8pm.
