It is Pancake Tuesday, so that means pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But what happens if you want to go out tonight and still want to “get your pancakes on”?
Surely you can’t bring pancakes into the club with you, you might not get the shift after all, so I’ve come up with the perfect solution… Beer Pancakes!
If you think this idea is “ugghh”…you are completely wrong. Beer is in fact the pancake’s perfect match and yields the yummiest, fluffiest pancakes imaginable. It’s time to throw away those awful pancake mixes filled with hydrogenated vegetable oils! Get making the easiest recipe on earth with the best excuse of having some cans in the fridge.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
(makes 12 pancakes)
2 cups plain flour
2 cups beer
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tbsp honey/maple syrup
some butter
(easy right?)
Method
1. Mix together the egg and the beer
2. Sift in the flour and mix well with a whisk. Batter should be thin and lumpy.
3. Heat a little butter in a pan, spoon some batter and cook over medium heat.
*Turn when bubbles appear on the surface and the edge of pancake is firm
4. Flip onto the plate.
5. Munch on with one the following toppings:
Denny’s Rashers
Maple Syrup
Blueberries,
Chocolate chips,
Bananas if you like!
So what are you going to put on your pancakes?
Enjoy your pancakes responsibly.
