The camera never lies.
CCTV footage has captured a British politician’s wife, Christine Hemming, stealing a kitten from the home of her husband’s long-term lover.
Hemming, who has five cats of her own (!!) says she has ‘no recollection‘ of taking the animal.
She told jurors at the court case in Birmingham Crown Court that she “had no intention of stealing a cat –
either before I went to the property, when I was at the property, when I left the property, and subsequently”.
”I didn’t know there was a cat in the property … I have no recollection of taking the cat,
and I tried my best to return the cat when it dawned on me that I had it.”
CCTV footage of Hemming sneaking into the house of her husband’s lover tells a different story however.
Jurors deliberated for a mere five hours before finding the MP’s wife guilty of burglary.
She is to be sentenced next month.
Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “cat burglar” doesn’t it?!
